Born and raised in Ishgard, she fled to Gridania at the age of twelve escaping an abusive uncle and a society that emboldened his behaviour. She’s been in Ul’dah for years now, the furthest from Ishgard she could get, quietly escaping her own terrible choices.
About Alva
Alva’s backstory is filled with the consequences of terrible people raising children. Because of this, her entire thought process lives in a morally gray area so anyone looking to roleplay with her needs to be comfortable with that.Her history contains the usual trigger warnings for childhood abuse, rape, and plenty of drug use. I don’t want to give the impression though that she’s a broken individual by any means. She’s kind and concerned with looking after everyone but she’s pragmatic and a realist. She’s afraid of letting people down and equates her self-worth to how useful she is to others. She uses drugs and sex to avoid focusing on the consequences of her actions and broadly to numb herself to her own, often overwhelming, emotions. She is distant, doesn’t share things from feelings, to her past frequently, and will often outright lie to avoid drawing attention to herself.Alvaeia’s not a very good person by any stretch of the imagination, she's someone still caught up in surviving not thriving. But despite her faults, she’s committed as a healer, determined to help as many people as she can, and will often put herself at great risk if there’s even a chance of being able to save someone.
What I'm Looking For
Dark RP has always been a delight of mine. I don’t have any particular themes I’m uninterested in exploring or that are hard passes for me. So feel free to spam an idea my way and we can see about working something out. ERP and the like are also things I’m comfortable with, although, generally I want it to be a part of a larger plot or character arc. I usually prefer in-game, but am open to google docs or even discord as well, whichever is easiest.I don’t mind playing loose with lore. That is to say, no one person can know every detail of Final Fantasy XIV and so filling in the blanks or twisting a few facts for the purpose of good storytelling is fine by me. Broadly speaking I like plots to at least feel cohesive with the lore the game’s writers have come up with, I’m roleplaying in Final Fantasy XIV after. But I’m not committed to strict lore-accurate portrayals of everything, a little wiggle room for creativity and character development is perfectly fine.
Hooks
- She bears a striking resemblance to her mother, a keeper miqo’te who left her tribe to find employment. She’s never met any of her extended family on her mother’s side, in fact, she’s unaware if any of them are alive.
- She is the only daughter of the former Lord of house Candraed in Ishgard, it was quite the scandal when he named his infant bastard heir to his fortune and house. Even more of a problem when he mysteriously died, leaving the baby in the care of her uncle. Thus her last name, when she chooses to use it, has plenty of scandals attached to it as well as notoriety.
- She’s a recognizable face among the Ala Mhigan Refugees, hosting a twice-monthly clinic there where she doles out medical care, free of charge. An extension of the charity-based clinic she runs in Gridania.
- She can also occasionally be spotted among the citizens of Ul’dah where she’s begun to garner a reputation as the talented healer in charge of the Blackrose medical division who’s always willing to argue with a merchant over the costs of books and herbs.

I’m in my late twenties and my final year of university. I’ve been married for about five years now and have two cats along with three birds. I’m free most evenings, every weekend and frequently though the day depending on if I have class or work.I’ve been roleplaying for over a decade now, but I won’t claim to be a wonderful writer by any stretch.
